I have not seen anything on Tumblr about the other anti genocide protest that went on at Harvard in the past few weeks.
On April 20, 2024 two Taiwanese-American and two Tibetan students working with the Coalition of Students Resisting the CCP and Students for a Free Tibet interrupted a talk by Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng. They were calling attention to the Genocides of the Tibetans, Uyghurs in Eastern Turkestan, the subjugation of Hong Kong and Amb. Xie's specific part in it, as well as military threats to Taiwan.

Artist Sanmu Chan was stopped, questioned and taken away by police in Causeway Bay on Monday, the eve of the Tiananmen crackdown anniversary, as he sought to partake in some performance art.
A large police deployment had appeared near Victoria Park, a venue that once hosted mass remembrance vigils.
Dozens of uniform and plainclothes police officers were stationed across the shopping district, concentrated around East Point Road, Hennessy Road and Lockhart Road. An armoured police vehicle was briefly seen parked outside SOGO mall.
HKFP reporters witnessed Chan write the Chinese characters for “8964” with his finger in the air, referencing the date of the 1989 crackdown.
He also mimed pouring wine onto the ground to mourn the dead, per a Chinese tradition, before police moved in.
The Tiananmen crackdown occurred on June 4, 1989 ending months of student-led demonstrations in China. It is estimated that hundreds, perhaps thousands, died when the People’s Liberation Army cracked down on protesters in Beijing.
Over 30 police officers took Chan away for questioning and created a cordon to separate the artist from the media.
He was then taken away in a police vehicle a little before 9:30 pm, in a scene similar to his detention last June on the eve of the crackdown anniversary.
It is unclear if he was arrested. HKFP has reached out to the police for comment.
First anniversary since Article 23
Tuesday will mark the first Tiananmen crackdown anniversary since the city passed domestic security legislation, more commonly known as Article 23.
Police invoked the new law for the first time last week to arrest former Tiananmen vigil organiser Chow Hang-tung and six others over alleged sedition. They stand accused of using an “upcoming sensitive date” to incite hatred against the central and Hong Kong authorities through social media posts. Police made an eighth arrest in connection with the case on Monday. Hong Kong used to be one of the few places on Chinese soil where annual vigils were held to commemorate the people who died in the 1989 crackdown. But police banned the gathering at Victoria Park for the first time in 2020 citing Covid-19 restrictions, and imposed the same ban in the following year.
No official commemoration has been held since the vigil organiser, the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, disbanded in September 2021. Currently occupying Victoria Park – historically the site of Hong Kong’s vigils – is a five-day patriotic carnival organised by 28 pro-Beijing groups.

What happens when people don't read even 1 newssite in their entire lives
Looking through the "#rednote" tag on Tumblr, I see there's FAR, FAR too many Tumblr users who think Xiaohongshu has less censorship than the society of America.
Dudes… dudes…
America wouldn't throw you in concentration camps for 10 years for talking about Tulsa or for saying Matt Gaetz is evil. They wouldn't ban you from the entire internet for talking about Graham Norton Show. They wouldn't temporarily shut down the entire internet for 3 days each year to prevent people from talking about the Iraq War.
Did no one on this godsforsaken site watch the South Park episode about Free Hong Kong?
Did no one realise how hard PRC struck down the Hong Kong umbrella movement (PRC would 139% do the same for Black Lives Matter if it had occured in China)?
Did no one remember GOG's Devotion superscandal?
Did no one remember the time China banned an entire NBA team because one of its staffers didn't like PRC?
Did no one remember the time all of China ganged up on HoloLive on laughably fake charges, and that they still gang up on them to this day?

Flag of the Free City of Hong Kong
This is the flag of the Free City of Hong Kong. It comes from a world where Britain handed over Hong Kong to Taiwan rather than the People's Republic of China. British leaders were able to convince both of the Chinas to allow Hong Kong to hold a referendum to decide its fate. The overwhelming majority voted to join Taiwan. The PRC demanded a recount, and Taiwan agreed to hold another referendum. This time, however, Hong Kong voted to become and independent city-state. America and Britain agreed to defend Hong Kong's independence if it were ever threatened. Tensions ran high for a few days but, reluctantly, the PRC agreed to respect Hong Kong's sovereignty. Though they also built a large wall along their border with Hong Kong. The PRC claimed this was to keep Hong Kongers out, but almost everyone knew it was really to keep their citizens in.
Hong Kong is an economic powerhouse just as it is in our world. It maintains close relations with Taiwan. The two nations operate a mutual immigration policy, colloquially referred to as the Free China Corridor. As a result, Hong Kong is slightly less crowded than in our world. Hong Kong also maintains good relations with Britain and is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.
The flag symbolizes Hong Kong's mixed Chinese and British heritage. The stripes harken back to the flag of the British East India company. That they also resemble the America flag, and thus act like a middle finger to the PRC, is a happy coincidence. The lotus flower represents Chinese influences on Hong Kong's culture.

The RingDoll founder supports police brutality against Hong Kong, stop buying from them. Instead, purchase their dolls secondhand
6 days ago I made a post on Instagram in support of freedom for Hong Kong. This is a 7 year old art that I’ve posted many times before without issue. The only difference is this time I made the post in support of Hong Kong fighting for freedom against the oppressive Chinese government.
The next day, my post was removed for “hate speech”. This isn’t Instagram’s fault. The Chinese government paid attackers to mass report me, thus triggering the algorithm to automatically remove my post. I appealed the removal and my art was restored.
However, ever since that day, I’ve been shadowbanned as well and I’m still shadowbanned. No doubt due to the same abuse of report button by the paid attackers. The Chinese government have figure out a way to censor and control free speech even outside of their country.
Now people who aren’t already a follower on Instagram will not see my art. All of my free Hong Kong hashtags don’t show up anymore in search. This is how the Chinese government silence those who support freedom.
This is why the people of Hong Kong are fighting so hard to keep their freedom. No one in the free world should have to live under this level of abuse and censorship.
You can help me fight this injustice. Repost my art on Instagram with the hashtags #FreeHongKong #StandWithHongKong #HongKongProtest and share the story. Even if they censor me, the Chinese government can’t censor us all.

HK 612 5th Anniversary
#freehongkong #MHKGA
This day means to many Hongkongers especially those who have to leave their homeland. The injuries brought by the regime were much greater and more severe than those in the 2014 Occupy Central with Love and Peace. Understandably, some great conflicts are ongoing in the remaining part of the world. Still, Hongkongers continue expanding our battlefield internationally, hoping other like-minded citizens will join in resisting neo-axis powers.
